Johnny Roberts is co-founder and CEO of Bhate Environmental Associates, Inc., a full service environmental solutions business with focus in environmental restoration, energy and sustainability. Bhate (pronounced BAH-tay) is made up of 14 subsidiary and joint venture companies. It is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, with 10 offices and field operations in the US, India, Afghanistan, and UAE. The company has performed work throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and 19 countries. Mr. Roberts also is founder and President of The Roberts Corporation, Inc. which invests in distressed real estate, private equity and venture capital deals. He is a founding director of National Bank of Commerce, formerly Americus Financial Services, LLC, a community bank; Chairman and co-founder of National Capital Finance, LLC, a commercial finance and asset based lender; and serves as Managing Director on the board of MCM Technology, LLC, an asset management software company.
Mr. Roberts is a past chairman of the Society of International Business Fellows and sits on the board of the Global Network Foundation, SIBF's philanthropic arm, and is a founding director of the Middle East Leadership Academy (MELA) board. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Birmingham and the Society of American Military Engineers. He also serves on the boards of the Birmingham Business Alliance, the executive committee for the Boy Scouts of America/Greater Alabama Council and has been bestowed the
Silver Beaver award for distinguished service to youth through scouting. He serves on the Board of Visitors of the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration at the University of Alabama (his alma mater).
Mr. Roberts enjoys golfing, sailing, mountain climbing (Kilimanjaro) and scuba diving. He and his wife, Carolanne Roberts, have one son, Fletcher, an Eagle Scout, and student at the University of Alabama.
