Abdullah is Managing Director of Weqaya Takaful Insurance and Reinsurance company, a publicly listed joint stock company with over 100 employees, which he founded in 2008. He is also Founder and Chairman of Global Insurance Brokers, Founder and Chairman of Piece of Cake Company (specializing in wedding and celebration cakes), and Founder and Board Member of Arab Loss Adjusters Saudi Arabia (serving both insurance companies and their clients to handle risk claims and evaluations). Furthermore, he chairs the Audit Committee of Najm Insurance Services, a company focusing on damage assessments in traffic accidents. Earlier in his career, he specialized in insurance and finance in the Central Bank and at SAMBA Financial Group, which is one of the biggest banks in Saudi Arabia.
Abdullah attended King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals, in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He started KFUPM as a marketing student but, enamored with numbers, calculations and accounting, he switched subjects and graduated with a B.Sc. in Finance..
Rateb is the Managing Partner of Invest, a financial research and analysis company he co-founded. He is also the founder of Cre8ivity, an emerging media consultancy, while simultaneously serving as Consular Information Assistant in the American Consulate General in Jerusalem. He is Senior Palestine Associate locally representing Cornerstone Global Associates, a consultancy based in London. Previously he was Senior Accounts Manager at Ellam Tam, the first public-relations and communications company in Ramallah, West Bank. Earlier in his career, he worked with Oxfam GB in occupied Palestine as Regional Information and Communications Officer.
Rateb holds a B.A. and M.A. in Political Science and Diplomatic Studies, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in law. Furthermore, he has Commercial Attaché certification. He is a keen photographer.
Abdullah heads Regulatory Compliance for the whole of Banawi Industrial Group – managing a new department within the organization, which he has been assigned to build from scratch. Simultaneously he is tasked with restructuring B.I.G.’s Government Affairs Section, computerizing and systematizing it to match the company’s globalization strategic plan. His four-year career at the company has also encompassed Plant Manager in Jeddah and Cairo, and then Logistic and Services Manager. Before this, he worked in various positions at the Saudi Cable Company. All together, he has 11 years of experience in production and operations and plant management.
Abdullah obtained a B.Sc. in Production Engineering and Mechanical System Design from King Abdulaziz University. Among the trainings he has attended was the program on Capturing the Power of Negotiation from the Future Generation Foundation/ Dubai School of Government. Trained at Aircraft Accessories and Components Company (AACC), he has worked beside professional masters in overhauling the mechanical parts of military aircraft fighters such as C130, F15 and F16.
Rita is Creative Director and Senior Partner at maisam architects & engineers in Amman. She leads the company’s Design Lab where she oversees a team of architects, motivating and challenging them to create unique concepts and outstanding designs. She is also responsible for ensuring that projects on the ground, in the development and construction phases, maximally correspond with the original design, and has experience with projects varying in function and scale in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE, and USA. She began her career as an architect at Medesign, which was later restructured into the present firm of maisam architects & engineers.
Rita earned a B.Sc. in Architecture from Jordan University of Science and Technology. She made her first drawing when she was three years old and “since learning to hold a pencil has never put it down.”
Amer leads the finance division of Oman Gas Company .
Before joining OGC, he worked as Finance director for Oman Trading International Ltd. (OTI), a commodity trading company based in Dubai, UAE.
His responsibilities include setting financing strategies, supervising management accounts, and overseeing financing activities in general. Prior to OTI, Amer was working for Abu Dhabi Gas liquefaction Company (ADGAS) in Abu Dhabi and Oman LNG.
Al Jabri holds Master's degree in Finance & banking and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Sultan Qaboos University Oman.
Salma works at the Office of the Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court in Amman as Senior Follow-up Coordinator since October 2014. In her fifteen years at the Royal Hashemite Court she has been engaged in a wide range of projects. At the Economic and Development Department, she worked to promote the investments in Jordan’s emerging sectors (tourism, pharmaceuticals and IT) to East Asian nations. She spent time in both the Department’s Royal Trips Unit and Investment Compliant Unit, where her achievements include developing a weekly economic newsletter for His Majesty, the Economic Team of His Majesty at the Royal Court. She was seconded for a time to the government’s Reform Committee. In 2009, she joined the Media and Communication Department for 6 months at the Royal Court on a short mission to deliver, as a member of the “10th Anniversary of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne Committee”, the responsibility to help in developing the media communication plan for the whole year royal messages portraying the values underpinning the decade of the King’s reign.
Salma obtained a B.Sc with a double major in Political Science & Economics with a minor in Political Philosophy from Boston College, Massachusetts. Her Master’s degree was in Conflict Resolution (with a focus on the role of leadership in negotiations) from the Diplomatic Institute of Jordan as the first class of conflict resolution in the Middle East in 2002. She completed the UN Leadership Academy short course about world conflicts, and the University of Toledo’s program on sustainable economic development for the Middle East in 2004, where her final presentation was on leaders and leadership. She is a passionate about volunteer work and in serving communities, and when it comes to hobbies, she has great admiration to horse riding and sports with all its’ forms; she loves traveling and exploring different cultures and is an adept of art and music.
Basel is a member of the investment team at The Promise, Nuqul Group. He manages part of the Group's investments, tracking performance, conducting valuations on investment proposals, performing business due diligence, and negotiating transaction terms and pricing. Previously, he worked at Jordan Investment Trust (Jordinvest), starting in research and rising to VP level in corporate finance. He also has experience in managing corporate sales both at Standard Chartered Bank (Jordan) and in the Treasury Department, advising clients and providing risk management solutions.
Basel has a B.A. in Banking and Finance from Yarmouk University. He gained an M.Sc. in International Banking and Financial Studies from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. Furthermore, he recently passed the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Level III Exam to receive his CFA charter.
Samer is Research and Development Manager for Hikma Pharmaceuticals, involved in the development of niche products requiring special delivery technologies. He provides the annual plans for drug development, and is responsible for the whole ladder of decisions from purchasing raw materials through scientific approaches up to submission of the drug file for regulatory approvals. Previously, he worked in the Marketing Department as a Product Manager, where his duties included doing promotional items and scientific orientation for medical representative in the field. He spent a year in Hikma’s Compliance Department, which deals with implementing American FDA regulation in the pharmaceutical industry.
Samer obtained a B.Sc. in Pharmacy from the University of Jordan. He continued with an M.Sc. in Chemistry from California State University. Later, he obtained an Advanced International Diploma in Business from Cambridge University, UK, studying finance, marketing, business organization, business communication and HR management.
Basma is Brand Manager, Brand and Corporate Communications Management, for the Emirates National Oil Company in Dubai, formulating and delivering successful marketing event, promotion campaigns and strategies for the company’s brand. She manages a cross-continental lubricants business for ENOC across 50markets, and also guides its aviation and chemical businesses. In addition, she initiates corporate social responsibility programs for ENOC. Previously Basma served as an Account Executive for Core Design Group, a prominent advertising agency in Miami, Florida. She has experience in other advertising agencies in both Dubai and USA.
Basma holds a B.A. in Fine Arts, with a specialization in graphic design and illustration, from the University of Miami, Florida. She is a member of the UAE national Taekwondo team, and has won gold medals in various Korean and Arab championship tournaments. In 2010, she represented UAE in the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou, China. Courageous both by air and by sea, she has skydived in South Africa and gone shark-diving in the Atlantic Ocean.
Tariq is a plant design engineer with the Power Generation Engineering and Services Company, Egypt. Earlier, he worked with Armanious Group (Holding Group of Eva Pharma) as a site engineer and owner representative in the construction of Eva’s cosmetics factory in Cairo. He has experience in construction and on-shore drilling in UAE. In parallel to his engineering profession, he has been a member and advisor at the Egyptian NGO Alashanek Ya Balady, presenting skills trainings and workshops for youth and Board members.
Tariq has a B.Sc. in Engineering from Ain Shams University, where his graduation project was on highway, bridges and airport design. He also holds a diploma from the American Society for Mechanical Engineers via the American University in Cairo. He enjoys handball, football and swimming.
Cinderella worked all her career in the training and development. Few years back moved to Dubai, worked in Emaar in the training and development and currently became a certified DISC trainer while working in Meraas Holdings as an Assistant Manager in the human resources development. .
Mohanad Hijjawi is a recognised investment and project management expert, with a clear focus in the Palestinian private sector. He has hands-on cultural understanding, possesses an established network and guarantees a strong national and international presence for PIF.
For the past twelve years, he has worked in several economic sectors in Palestine and has exercised his talent in key private companies as well as non-profit organizations. Mr. Hijjawi has greatly contributed to the development of the Palestinian private sector by identifying and building new business lines for existing companies and has extensive knowledge of the economic market potential in the MENA region.
Mr. Hijjawi was assigned by the Palestine Trade Centre- PalTrade as an advisor for improving the export environment in Palestine. He has heavily contributed in developing Position Papers that reflect the interests of the Palestinian private sector in strengthening the economic and trade relationships with the regional and international priority markets. He also worked on developing a Position Paper about the Income and Value Added Tax laws in Palestine. From 2012 to 2014, he managed the “Trade in Services” project which was implemented by the Palestine Trade Centre-PalTrade and the Ministry of National Economy in Palestine. He worked with the public and private sectors to build a platform for the trade in services sector in Palestine, improving the institutional framework, and strengthening the Palestinian expertise in this field.
Mr. Hijjawi has technically contributed and managed the largest agricultural project in Palestine initiated by PADICO Holding and capitalised up to US $15m: the Date Palm Project. He conducted market researches and feasibility studies, created business plans, integrated successfully local communities, and coordinated professional inputs.
Mr. Hijjawi has acquired a strong field experience in project management, from identifying client’s objective to overseeing and coordinating shareholders interventions in the project’s life cycle. His managerial capabilities and his interpersonal skills offer great assets for the execution and management of projects.
Mr. Hijjawi is a Palestinian national with Arabic mother tongue and excellent communication skills in English. He obtained an MBA from the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom in 2007, and has a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Al-Yarmouk University in Jordan from 2002.
Dania is COO and Producer at Eggdancer Productions, an independent film and television production company, based in Jeddah. Its programs typically inquire into social, cultural and religious issues. It was co-founded by herself and a female partner, who were the first women in Saudi Arabia allowed to own and manage a company without a male business partner. Earlier, Dania was a lecturer in management information systems, banking and finance at Dar Al-Hekma College in Jeddah. For five years she was also the Project Manager of the annual exhibition at the same institution.
Dania gained a B.Sc. in Mathematics from King Abdul Aziz University, and went on to get an M.Sc. in Management Information Systems from the University of Southampton, UK. She is a member of the Jeddah Young Businesswomen Committee (Jeddah Chamber of Commerce). She also is a Board member of Midad Club, a girls’ youth club where she is responsible for managing over 170 girls, and organizes social activities and self-development seminars.
Hanna runs the Treasury Section for Fine Hygienic Paper Company, in charge of supervising subordinates, coordinating cash requirements with business units, negotiating with banks, and preparing the company’s regular cash projections. Furthermore, he is responsible for consolidating the financial statements for the Nuqul Group as a whole. Earlier, he worked eight years in Sudan as Chief Accountant for Seabulk Trading, which specialized in the supply and distribution of bulk cement. He began his career as a Loan Executive at Gulf Bank in Kuwait.
Hanna graduated from Schiller International University in London with a Bachelor’s degree in International Business. Among his interests are black-and-white Arabic films. His favorite game is snooker.
Khalid is the Director of Localine Oman, a petroleum service and supply company. It holds contracts with major oil operating and service companies such as Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and Occidental Oman. Previously he was Senior Petroleum Engineer with PDO, where he focused on production and surveillance. He was highly experienced in various reservoir types ranging from fractured carbonates to sandstone reservoirs. At one point, he was responsible for the Musallim field with 82 wells producing over 16,000 barrels a day.
Khalid holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester, UK. He enjoys fishing.
Mohammed is Segment Manager – All Segments for Banawi Container Group, based in Jeddah. The company is the largest multifaceted packaging company in the Middle East, dominant in both the industrial and consumer packaging segments. Mohammed’s complex of responsibilities includes overseeing the professional work and development of the sales representatives to help them meet their sales goals, formulating sales strategies, establishing market pricing, and recruiting new customers. Earlier, he was Area Sales Manager for the company and explored business opportunities throughout the Middle East and Africa. He also spent two years with Medad Printing & Packaging in Sharjah (UAE) as Export Sales Manager.
Mohammed holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Cairo University. One of his favorite things to do is to travel continuously all over the world.
Monther is Head of Business Sales Support at the telecom company Nawras, where his department is responsible for supporting the firm’s sales force before, during and after sales services. He manages three different teams: the Pre-sales Team analyzing the requirements and revenue business case of potential customers; the Service Management Team handling billing inquiries and receiving customers; and the Logistic Team, which handles customer equipment (SIM cards, mobile handsets) and provides sales reports. Before assuming this position within Nawras, he worked there as Business Data and Internet Product Manager. His previous experience in the telecommunications industry includes jobs as Territory Account Manager at Avaya, and Network Operation Section Head at Omantel.
Monther gained his undergraduate degree from St Mary’s University, Halifax, Canada, with a Bachelor of Science in Computing Science and a minor in Business Administration.
Mustafa is Executive Manager of Maani Steel, one of the companies of Maani Ventures. Mustafa created the firm from scratch in seven months after being given the idea by the Maani Ventures chairman, dealing with all issues ranging from hiring personnel, buying and installing machinery, establishing strategies, and manufacturing the first products. Previously, he rose from Purchasing Officer to Plant Manager during an eleven-year career at Steel Building Company. In an earlier job, he was Maintenance Engineer with Najjar Industrial Company (a steel manufacturer).
Mustafa graduated as a mechanical engineer from the University of Jordan, initially focusing on technical courses before moving to management courses.
Nader is the Head of Industrial Products Marketing for Emirates National Oil Company in Dubai. He is responsible for overall executive management of two businesses: ENOC Commercial & Distribution and ENOC Bunkering International, both within UAE and for international markets. His brief is to develop strategies and targets to implement effective operational, financial and internal controls to make his business into leading strategic supplier of fuels. He began his career as a marketing executive at Emirates Gas in Dubai. He rose to become Marketing and Government Relations Manager at the same company.
Nader holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from California State University. His hobbies are photography and skiing. Moreover, he has “raised many exotic animals and reptiles such as servals (African wild cats), cobras, rattlesnakes, eagles and scorpions.”
Nazem is Operations Director at Nuqul Automotive in Amman, heading the company’s HR, IT, procurement, corporate marketing, and business development departments. He conducts feasibility studies for new projects, assists Dealer Principals in improving their business models and sales strategies, and analyzes industry and country profiles. Previously, he was Ordering and Conversion Manager, and Sales Manager, at the same company. Earlier in his career he served as Retail Sales Manager for Peak Power in Anaheim, California.
Nazem obtained a B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from California State University, Fullerton, CA. He also gained a professional certificate in Auto Dealer Management after completing the Porsche Advanced Dealer Management Program.
Peter serves as Technical Vice President for Global Napi Pharmaceuticals, an Egyptian private company that started production in 1998. In this capacity, he oversees all technical aspects of its existing factory while overseeing the construction and startup of a new sterile facility. For the last eight years he has worked in various departments of the company, as section head in the packing department, and as business development coordinator, when he was in charge of finding fresh partnerships to expand the company's portfolio of products.
Peter graduated Cairo University with a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy. Currently he is pursuing an MBA from the Maastricht School of Management.
Randi Abdin is currently the Director of Elia Nuqul Foundation (ENF); a family philanthropic foundation providing educational scholarships for underpriveleged youth and creating awareness and space for them to become future leaders in their respective communities by enhancing their personal and professional skills.
Previously, she worked in several philanthropic organizations in Jordan.
Randi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Business Administration from the University of Jordan. An Associate Certified Coach from the International Coach Federation and a graduate of the Landmark Forum and The Advanced Course from Landmark worldwide institute. She is committed to the coaching practice and currently exploring the potential synergies between movement/dance and leadership coaching.
Having a passion for the performing arts and especially dance, Randi received a Professional Diploma in Dance Studies from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire for Music and Dance. Following that Randi pursued choreography, performing and teaching dance.
She has passion for music, performing arts and arts in general, travelling and meeting people from various cultures.
